Who We Are

Read and Feed tutors work at Wilburn Elementary School to help students become more confident with their literacy skills. Tutors work with students one on one to provide them with these great opportunities. At Wilburn Elementary School we partner directly with the school to work with their many students in the schools facilities. Each session has small groups for the students to get the attention they need while providing them with healthy snacks and nutritious meals.

What We Do

Read and Feed provides underserved elementary students with the resources to strengthen their literacy skills. We have been an after-school literacy program for the last ten years providing meals, tutoring and books to children from low-income families. We give over 630 students the chance to increase their literacy skills while ensuring they are properly nurtured. When working with young readers they are able to experience one on one tutoring to increase their confidence with reading. One new requirement we have for tutors is that a tutor must be 18 years old or older.
