Volunteer: Deliver Meals to Students at First United Methodist Church

Volunteer will pick up bagged meals from the Read and Feed office located at 171-10 High House Road, Cary, NC 27511 by 5:00pm. Then deliver the meals by 5:30pm to the First United Methodist Church-Cary site located at 121 Waldo Street, Cary, NC 27511.

Volunteer: Tutor Students at First United Methodist Church (Cary)

Help us tutor elementary school students to improve their literacy skills this school year!

As a reading tutor, you will work one on one or in small groups with K-5 students. Our tutors make a BIG difference in the lives of our students. No prior teaching experience is required to be a tutor, only a willingness to give kids an appetite for reading!

Tutoring is a 75-90 minute, once a week commitment. We ask that tutors commit to attending at least 80% of our available shifts.

To be a reading tutor, you must meet the following qualifications:

1. Attend Tutor Training 

Respond to Tutor Training under "Opportunities" to be eligible to respond to the shifts below.

2. Complete a Background Check

You will receive instructions to complete a background check after Tutor Training.You will receive an email notification once your background check is approved.

Once you complete the steps above, you can return to this page and select shifts to attend. Once you click “Respond”, you will receive a confirmation email. Be sure to add your shifts to your calendar!
