The Team Lead will be responsible for managing a team of volunteer tutors and organizing one program site. The Team Lead is responsible for creating an inspiring, respectful, and enriching learning environment for students and tutors. The Team Lead must make a 1.5-hour weekly time commitment for a semester and volunteer at 75% of the sessions. This opportunity will require additional responsibilities such as attending brief meetings with staff.
Main Responsibilities:
- Take student and volunteer attendance at each program session.
- Ensure that COVID-19 Safety Procedures (i.e. mask mandate) are being followed at all times.
- Serve as a “floater” during the session if there is adequate tutor coverage available; serves as a tutor if there is not adequate coverage.
- Assigns students to groups/tutors with the goal of establishing continuing relationships and grouping like-readers.
- Keep in timely and articulate communication with the Program and Evaluation Director and volunteers.
- Pick up take-home books, healthy snacks, and curriculum as needed from the main office.
